October: Employer Events

October: Employer Events

So here at CareerCentral this year, we have a jam packed timetable of employer events to help keep you in contact with the graduate market.
In October’s programme of events, we have Enterprise Rent A Car, the NHS Leadership Programme, and CGG all coming to see our amazing cohort of students. We’d love for you all to participate in these workshops- you never know, it might be the start of your journey! Book on using the links below if you’d like to come along.

The events are as follows:
Working in Sales and Marketing- Enterprise Rent a Car
14th October, 1.30-3.00pmCareerCentral Seminar Room

Working in Oil andEnergy- CGG
24th October, 1-2pmCareerCentral Seminar Room

Working in NHS Management
29th October, 1.30-3CareerCentral Seminar Room

Okay, but why should I spend my time in these workshops?

Employer sessions are the best way for you to meet employers, and have the opportunity to engage with them one-on-one. As the graduate market becomes more competitive, you need to make sure you’re doing everything you can to stand out from the crowd, and being the smiley one holding the sparkling CV might be the difference between you and another applicant.

You will be able to ask informative questions about the industry you’re interested in working in, even if you don’t want to work with that company in particular. Remember, a feel for the industry you’re going into is really important, because there’s nothing worse than competing for an excellent graduate scheme and then find out that actually the industry isn’t for you. The earlier you start researching, the more chance you’ll have.

So, book onto our employer events to make sure you’re making the most of CareerCentral, and keep an eye out for other sessions coming up over the semester. Don’t be afraid to start networking early- it’s going to be a hidden strength, and it’ll be invaluable in the future.
Don’t forget, if you’d like some extra help building those skills, just pop in to see us, or visit MyCareerCentral to browse sessions relevant to you.
